As the summer heats up, so does the housing market.  I hear from realtors and home buyers that houses are moving fast in our area.  It appears that new housing construction is also on an uptick.  If you are one of those in the home buying mode, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) provides an excellent resource to take you through the home purchase process: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/owning-a-home

Whether you are a new buyer or have been through the process before, the CFPB provides a nice summary regarding rates, types of loans, and a closing checklist: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/owning-a-home/resources/checklist_mortgage_closing.pdf

Of course, we encourage you to work with your financial planner to assist you through the process, and help you determine how much house you can afford and still meet your other goals.  You don’t want to end up house rich but life poor.
